We are a grass-roots, family-run, Canadian company. The efficient design and uncompromising sound of our microphones comes from 45 years of experience — and the sound engineering expertise of CEO & designer Dave Thomas.

Dave Thomas
A circuit man from the beginning. 45 years of repair, modification, invention, and engineering — from concert sound for rock legends to hand-building the microphones that carry his name today.
1960s–70s
Concert sound & technical service
Touring with Fleetwood Mac, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin. Repair bench for practically every amplifier, keyboard, and signal processor in the business.
1970s–80s
Ocean Sound Studios, Vancouver
Co-founder and technical director. Grew from garage to Studer-Trident-JBL facility. Hosted producers Bob Rock, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, David Foster, Bill Porter. Artists: Bryan Adams, Randy Bachman, Paul Horn, D.O.A., Brian Macleod, Terry Jacks.

Technical consultant on the legendary duet session, using Ocean Sound’s lovingly maintained Telefunken U47.

Warranty & support
Every Advanced Audio microphone is backed by our commitment to service. Warranty covers manufacturing defects in capsule, circuit, and transformer. Repairs and servicing performed in-house at our Okanagan workshop. International orders welcome \u2014 we\u2019ll work with you on shipping and any applicable duties.
